I don’t know about you, but I am in love with all things black and white and written in calligraphy these days. Needless to say my love for farmhouse decor and halloween was begging to come together. So I got busy making these Halloween Shelf Decorations.
These are the first of my Halloween Shelf Decorations.
The tricky part to this little project is being okay with the final product coming out more rustic than fine-tuned. Because the lettering is handwritten on wood there is definitely a more casual rustic feeling to the piece. This is perfect though because it truly marries the farmhouse casual style into the piece – which I love.
I’m not sure if I love the halloween shelf decor or the styling and staging of these pictures more, but goodness gracious this makes me ready to decorate! Staging is a favorite past time for me! ha!
Do you want to make these Halloween Shelf Decorations?
If you’re a crafty person and have been practicing your hand lettering skills, then I highly recommend trying this project out. These are were made out 4×6 wood timbers from Home Depot. I chose the largest piece (I believe it was 18′ long) and asked them to cut it down for me. They were so kind to help a girl out. All it takes is some sanding, paint, practice, and patience. But, you can do it! Also! I am LOVING these water based paint pens for this sort of work by Sharpie. They also have oil-based pens. I chose to go with the water-based ones because I didn’t want to deal with mineral spirits if I needed to clean any spills along the way. 🙂 I’m messy. And lazy! Ha!
If, however, you’re more of a “I’d rather purchase it cause I’m not all that crafty” no worries! I have got you covered! Ha! I have made these available in my Etsy Store here.
Till next time!
